Sweet, salty and absolutely delicious, that’s the first thing that comes in mind when I think about these bites.

This is a recipe I’ve used for over ten years, and that I still like as much as I did the first time I tried it. If you’re a fan of the combination peanut butter and chocolate, you’ll definitely like these. When I get real cravings for the combination of chocolate and peanut and don’t have all the ingredients at home to make these snickers bites or just do not have time to bake (even if they only take half an hour to do) it’s not unusual for me to take a piece of chocolate and dip in peanut butter to keep the cravings away for a while. However, it is not as satisfying as eating these amazing snickers bites!

Perfect for both sugar cravings and chocolate cravings

Who doesn’t get chocolate cravings from time to time? For me, it often comes when I least expect it and most of the time when I it’s not possible to go to the store. Days like that, these super-easy bites are perfect to make! You mix the ingredients together and melt the chocolate in fifteen minutes and after that, it just needs to rest in the refrigerator for some time before it’s ready to be enjoyed.

The biggest problem with these snickers bites are that they get eaten way too fast. At home, it’s hard to make a batch last for more than a day, they are simply irresistible!

Scandinavian syrup

In this, and a lot of other recipes, I use Scandinavian syrup witch I’ve come to realize is kind of hard to find in other places in the world. The Scandinavian syrups are processed from sugar beets rather than corn that the American syrups are precessed from. The Swedish dark syrup is a bit sweeter and less bitter than American light molasses, but I’ve read that the taste is close enough to work as a substitut for Scandinavian dark syrup. Another option is to mix Lyle’s dark treacle syrup with Lyle’s golden syrup.

The light Scandinavian syrup seems to be harder to replace. It has a distinctive flavor of brown sugar and is fairly thin. You can however purchase it from sites like Marina Market and on Amazon and I would highly recommend it. It really works wonders!
